E’Lois Thomas, Ph.D. is the president of SEEL, LLC (Solutions for Energy Efficient Logistics), a certified DVBE and MBE working with utility partners across the country to implement energy efficiency solutions. Under her leadership, SEEL continues to soar as one of the largest African American owned implementation contractors in the nation.
Dr. Thomas earned a Ph.D. in business from Northcentral University, a Management MBA from Walsh College, and a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Detroit Mercy. She is a six-sigma black belt and professionally certified in green energy management by San Diego State University. She completed the Women in Leadership Program at Yale’s School of Management.
She is the chair of MEEA, vice chair of the Detroit Police Athletic League, and serves on the boards of BPI, RESULTS Mentoring, Advancing Women in Energy, and Franklin Wright Settlements. Dr. Thomas recently was named a Notable Leader in Sustainability (Crain’s, 2022), received a lifetime achievement award from her alma mater (University of Detroit Mercy, 2023), and recognized as an Enterprising Woman of the Year (Enterprising Women, 2024).
Dr. Thomas is married to Charles Thomas, Jr., a local non-profit executive and consultant. They have two adult sons, Charles III and Isaiah.
Dr. Thomas has been involved with Advancing Women in Energy for 6 years and has served as a board member since 2021.
